ABE

NEW ENGLAND PREMIERE

Abraham Solomon-Odeh—”Avram” to his Israeli-Jewish maternal family, “Ibrahim” to his Palestinian-Muslim paternal family, and “Abraham” to his Brooklyn parents—prefers to be called, well, Abe. A 12-year old with a passion for cooking (and a food blog Abe Cooks), Abe is tired of mediating between his politically-at-odds family. When Abe meets Chico, an Afro-Brazilian chef from Bahia, whose “Mix It Up” kitchen features a fusion of South American, Jamaican, and New York flavors, things get cooking. Searching for a catalyst that could bring his family together, Abe wonders if the flavors and foods of his grandparents’ homeland might do the trick. Make your reservation now to see this delightful family drama starring Noah Schnapp (Stranger Things, Bridge of Spies) and the perfectly-cast Brazilian musician/actor Seu Jorge (The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou, City of God). Shot by Blasco Giurato, cinematographer of Cinema Paradiso.
